Personal Profile

My name is Amarjit Kailey and I am patient, caring, practical, approachable, quick learner, methodical and a high achiever. I strive for balance professionally and personally. My family is my centre and I embrace cultural diversity being a first generation Canadian. My values of excellence, knowledge, advancement, relationships, recognition and communication are embedded within my daily life and my professional career.

I was born in Fort St. James, BC and when I turned three, my parents made a move to North Delta, BC where I grew up. Growing up I enjoyed playing sports, especially basketball and volleyball. Then I went to pursue my education in Kamloops, BC to become a Registered Respiratory Therapist.

I started my career at Vancouver General Hospital in 1998 and realized how much I enjoyed working in health care and engaging with patients. In 2000 I married my husband Sanjiv and we moved to Calgary, Alberta to begin a life together. We have four children - two daughters, Miyah (19), Asha (17) , and twin boys, Aaryan & Ishaan (15). We also have a fur baby, Luna who we love very much!

Through my 21 years of working with Alberta Health Services, I have had opportunities to explore many career options. Experience in Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Department, Surgical Services, Anesthesia, Contract and Procurement and Quality Improvement. Through this journey, I have explored roles of respiratory therapist, anesthesia assist, education consultant, supervisor, project management, implementation lead and my most full-filling role has been management
